Web Standards
I have made sure that my site validates with xhtml 1.0 standards. The CSS on my site does not validate in CSS 2.1 since I have included a few things from the upcoming CSS 3.0
Usability
- Scanability
- I have tried to make it obvious what is clickable. [pg 14]
- My navigation has a clear Hierarchy. [pg 31]
I have made sure that the content on my site is breif and to the point
My main navigation bar is clearly visable at the same spot on each page, all subnavigation links are in the subnav section with easy to see links to click. All the links in the footer are underlined.
The Navigation bar has an easy link to the home page, my assignment page, and the pages for our dogs and puppies. All of my assignments are in the assignments folder of my site and pages for our dogs are in the dogs folder.
SEO
The main thing that I have done to increase the Search Engine Optimization is to make sure that the title of my pages contain the keywords "German Shorthaired Pointer" When we start having puppies available I plan on helping my father link the page to several sites he visits that list purebred puppies for sale. I also plan on submitting my site to Yahoo and DMOZ, so I can be listed in their directories.
ROI
In order to increase ROI this site is very modularized to make changes easier to make and to allow for a constant look and feel to the site.
